How many years of experience do you have as a host/hotelier?
Well, this is our business for the last 10 years now. Before that, we were doing some other jobs, mostly, not related to tourism.
Why did you choose to work in hospitality?
Since we had real estate on the attractive location in Split region in Croatia, we’ve decided to start with the renovations and make a hotel business out of it. It turned out to be successful. 🙂
What are the biggest challenges?
Definitely uncertain economic times, pandemic, increase in the prices of the energy sources and similar unpredictable circumstances that affect the tourism industry.
What would you recommend to future hoteliers and our clients?
I would recommend to think carefully before starting a business, to check all the available options and to put everything on the paper, especially the budget. Also, if you are planning to start a hotel, from my experience, I suggest not starting a hotel business with less than 25 rooms.
