How many years of experience do you have as a host/hotelier?
We have been doing this business successfully for 11 years now. We enjoy what we do every day. 🙂
Why did you choose to work in hospitality?
We simply decided to invest in this business. Given that we live by the sea, it was somehow a logical sequence of events, but also something we saw ourselves in the long run.
The investment turned out to be a good decision, and we have decided to fully devote our time and effort to work in tourism and hospitality.
What are the biggest challenges?
Although many hoteliers say that the biggest challenges in the tourism sector are external factors that cannot be influenced (pandemic, war, unstable weather conditions, etc.) and although this is certainly true, we believe that the biggest challenge actually is to meet the needs of guests and succeed in achieving guests decide to return to your accommodation in the following years.
The thing is that the competition is large, guests have a varied choice of accommodation facilities and if for some reason they do not like the one at your place, they will very easily find a replacement. Our main goal is to ensure that our guests are satisfied with our service and accommodation, and this is exactly what we pay the most attention and effort to. 🙂
What would you recommend to future hoteliers and our clients?
We would advise to be persistent and not take guest reviews personally. Of course, it is necessary to respect guest reviews and do everything possible to correct things that may not have been at the level the guest expected. However, it is very important not to stress and stay calm. This requires a lot of practice and experience, but once you achieve it, you will definitely enjoy this job that you decided to do much more. 🙂
