Hostel Hop began in 2016 as an Australian backpacker, who had settled in Zagreb, Croatia to open a hostel of his own, discovered that there was a serious need for innovation in the booking space. Hostel booking platforms didn’t focus on the needs of the hostels, constricted communication with travelers and provided no tools to help travelers sustain their journeys. The solution was simple, provide a platform that created transparent communication for the hostel, and allowed travelers to earn cash for their recommendations. This solution would serve true backpackers, who live and work in hostels, and let the recommendations of other travelers determine their journey.
